Andy Warhol Pop Art

Look at our beautiful koru pop art, inspired by Andy Warhol. He takes a popular item and uses bright colours to best show it in his art.

Tell your family how you made your art piece.

Constable Dean

Constable Dean came and taught us about seat belts and how to be safe when travelling in a car. Tell your family what you learned.

We all got a chance to sit in the police car.

How exciting!

Constable Dean and Sneaky Driveways

Constable Dean came into school to teach us about sneaky driveways and how to keep safe when walking down the road on the footpath.

We learned we have to look both ways when we come to a driveway when we can't see if a car is coming or not.

How come we can walk past this car? Tell your family why it was safe to walk past it.

Then we learned about crossing the street safely. We held Constable Dean's hand and we looked both ways again, even when we were still crossing.

Then we all practised together.

Thanks Constable Dean!! We'll look forward to you showing us your police car next time!

Down the back of the chair

Here are some of the items we found down the back of the chair. Sophie found 20c too, and she brought it in to give to World Vision - what a lovely idea.

Our new friends

Our new friends are Kyle, Cameron and Hayley. We are enjoying having them as part of Ruma Ono.

Today we read this book in class.  Front Cover  What can you find down the back of the chair at your house?

We looked in the couch in our room and found.....

a scrunched up hair tie, and a purple piece of paper. Exciting stuff!! Leave comments below with what you find at home, down the back of the chair.

Sketching daffodils

Today we applied our newly learned sketching techniques to sketch these still life daffodils. We really looked carefully at the flowers in the vase and at what angles they were at, how their heights compared, and we applied our shading techniques.

We realised that all our sketches would look slightly different because we were all sitting in a circle looking at them from various angles.

Miss Eyre was so impressed with how carefully we looked at the daffodils and sketched what we saw. We even got to sign our names, and the year like all artists do.

Look at some of our beautiful sketches!

Following this, some students wanted to sketch Miss Eyre. Here are some artistic samples of their work which capture Miss Eyre perfectly.
