Our buddy class challenge

Miss Eyre and Ms Leader gave us a Friday afternoon challenge.

Each group was given a set amount of newspaper and one metre of sellotape and we had to build the tallest tower we could. As an added challenge, the tower had to be able to hold a pencil.

How did you help your group?

What made your tower strong?

What didn't work?

What would you do differently next time?

These girls did well with the second tallest tower.

Here is the winning tower which could stand all by itself, after a lot of trial and error! It was just over 1 metre tall.

Tell your family what you liked about the tower challenge.

  1. Thanks Miss Eyre for coming up with the idea. We had a fabulous time. I think we're going to need a lot more of these challenges, the kids worked together so well.
