Dr Seuss' Birthday

Happy birthday, Dr Seuss! Well, you would be 111 if you were still alive. But we did honour the author today by dressing up as his characters. Here are all of our Cats in Hats.

Look at our Star Bellied Sneetches!

Nikita was the clover from Horton Hears A Who. How creative. That's some green hat thinking right there!

Here are some of our Things.

Fox in Socks popped in for a visit.

Dannel was the boy in The Lorax who will speak for the trees.

And I was Thing 102, as Mrs M.R was Thing 101. We figured there would be a few Things around the place.

Two Grinches, the Lorax and Horton showed up, too.

Along with The Cat in the Hat and Red Fish, complete with her bowl.

Here comes trouble...

We had a great parade with the whole school, then it was back to Rooms 12 & 18 for some more fun.

We played Pin the Hat on the Cat, which gave us lots of laughs.

We read a selection of Dr Seuss books while eating... Hop on Pop-corn!

Two Things popped out of Nicole's troublesome hat during the fun.

We also enjoyed some creative writing with Dr Seuss sentence starters. In Mrs Aalbers room we did some maths in the form of tallying up all of the costumes from all of the books. We made Green Egg biscuits. To finish off the afternoon we watched a short movie from The Wubulous World of Dr Seuss. Phew, what a day.
